Heading Out

The harbor is a very busy place early in the morning. What a treat it is to see working lobstermen getting their boats ready, loading bait and heading out to their traps like they have been doing for 300 years. The sky yesterday was beautiful with muted clouds and a bright blue which gave the water a glassy look making the reflections pop. This small lobster boat went out at a nice slow speed leaving the water with some nice ripples. Again morning light, magnificent.

A friend has given me a poem that describes this image.

The tides come and go, cleansing.
The work continues unending.
The morning sun is a guiding path
reflecting the prior storm’s aftermath.
