Light and Texture

While photographing the ancient rudder a few days back I was intrigued by the texture of the wood. Three very large pieces were put together to make this rudder many years ago. I loved the way the light played on them but at the time I did not make a closeup since I only had the 21mm lens with me. Recently I was out shooting in the morning again but had the 35mm with me instead which allowed me to get closer. The morning light accentuated the wonderful textures in the old wood. I wish the hole and the wood knot were not in the middle but what can you do. If I get a chance I may go shoot it again. As I recall I was wrestling with those two items when I framed it. I know in post processing it was bugging me.
