A few weeks ago I was over in the Lane’s Cove area of Gloucester. It was a very dreary cloudy day with not much color. The clouds had an interesting layering effect going on so I wanted to include them in a photo. Lanes Cove is a very small harbor and gives protection to several lobstermen during lobster season, usually April to October. The jetty’s and breakwaters on Cape Ann have fallen into disrepair in some places, Lanes Cove being one of them. Imagine the power of the ocean to displace large pieces of granite the way it has done over time. In Lanes Cove most of the breakwater on the left side looking out has been pushed in looking like a giant stack of dominos that are being pushed over.
